Lincoln vs. Davis

History books keep saying that if Lincoln was the president of the south than things would have been different, did they say this because he would have implemented African Americans into the Confederate Army earlier or was it that he just controlled a room better? I feel like either one of them would have had a very difficult time beating the north, mostly thanks to Lee.

The north had several advantages that gave it an edge in the war other then Lincoln. If Lincoln was in the South it may have made some difference, but only of he could get along with Lee. With the way Lincoln went through generals Lee may have never gotten a chance to prove himself and never gained control of the Confederate army in the East.
